STANDARD MATERIAL
Brass (B) – Other materials available upon request.

BENEFITS

High pull-out and torque-out resistance.
Particularly recommended for plastics with high fiberglass content.
Greater contact area for the second part of the assembly.
Greater centering in the hole.

DESIGN GUIDE

PREPARING THE HOLE

The insert design calls for a conical plastic hole. See the table for the dimensions for each thread type.

INSTALLATION

HI-TORK may be installed after molding by way of ultrasonic welding or heat staking. When heat staking, be sure that the temperature is sufficient to soften the plastic without melting it. We recommend using the temperature at which the plastic was injected into the mold as a point of reference.

WALL THICKNESS

Wall thicknesses are specified in the table based on the size of the insert. Other thicknesses are possible based on the type of plastic. Verify these thicknesses by way of test assemblies.
