SELF-CLINCHING FLUSH NUT

Our “PF” SELF-CLINCHING FLUSH NUTS are designed to provide a thread that remains flush with both sides of the sheet metal. Gradual pressure alone presses the hexagonal flange into the sheet metal, which slips uniformly into the clinching groove, holding the insert firmly in place.

Technical data

Benefits

  • Ability to use captive nuts in panels where a lack of space prevents the use of traditional fasteners.
  • Easy to install in round holes.
  • High pull-out resistance.
  • High torque-out resistance.
  • Flush with both sides of the sheet metal.

DESIGN GUIDE

DRILLING

Holes need to remain within a tolerance range of -0.00/+0.08 mm.

SHEET METAL HARDNESS

Must be less than 70 RB (128 HV).

ASSEMBLY

Always install by applying gradual pressure, NEVER overly aggressive.

SHEET METAL THICKNESS

See table.

SHANK LENGTH

Always select the longest shank possible for the thickness of the sheet metal. This optimizes resistance to pull-out and lateral forces.

LOAD DIRECTION

Our PF self-clinching nuts must always have the load applied from the side opposite the head of the nut.

MATERIAL

a2 stainless steel.

1

Punch a hole of the recommended size into the sheet metal. Position the shank of the insert into the hole.

2

Apply sufficient pressure for the hexagonal head to penetrate until it is flush with the sheet metal.
