SELF-TAPPING THREADED INSERTS

PLASTIC-SERT is an insert designed with an external thread suitable for brittle and ductile plastic materials, unsaturated polyester resins (SMC, ZMC), polyurethanes, and fiberglass-reinforced thermoplastics. This specific threading features a very narrow helix angle and an asymmetric expansion towards the thread root, thus reducing radial stresses. This design allows for insert installation with low tightening torques, optimizing the assembly process. The result is a press-fit connection that evenly distributes the load. Additionally, the base of the insert features a reduced cutting slot, facilitating assembly and minimizing the risk of axial deflection at the lower end. For specific applications, a flanged version is also available. The PLASTIC-SERT insert is installed using a rotating spindle, further simplifying the process.
