PTSO / PBSO

THROUGH-THREADED AND BLIND-THREADED SELF-CLINCHING STANDOFF

Our PTSO / PBSO SELF-CLINCHING STANDOFFS are designed to provide accurate distances between panels of sheet metal. A simple squeezing action embeds the hexagonal head into the sheet causing the displaced metal to flow into the clinching groove.

Technical data

Benefits

Available in a wide range of lengths.
For heavy-duty applications, the “LSS” (larger support surface) version is available.
Remains mechanically clinched in sheet.
Available in through-threaded (PTSO) and blind-threaded (PBSO) versions.

DESIGN GUIDE

HOLE TOLERANCE

Holes need to remain within a tolerance range of -0.00/+0.08 mm, so we recommend punched holes.

ASSEMBLY

Always install by applying gradual pressure, NEVER overly aggressive.

SHEET METAL HARDNESS

Must be less than 80 RB (150 HV) for steel fasteners and less than 70 RB (128 HV) for stainless steel fasteners.

STANDARD MATERIAL

Hardened steel. Austenitic stainless steel 18/8 (8). Other materials available upon request.

STANDARD FINISH

Clear zinc plating and passivation (Steel). Natural (Stainless steel). 400 series stainless steel needed for AISI 304 sheet metal.

HEAVY-DUTY APPLICATIONS

For heavy-duty applications, PTSO and PBSO are also available in versions with a larger support surface (LSS) for smaller threads.
LSS fasteners feature larger heads and bodies than the standard fasteners of the same thread type (see table).
