CHARACTERISTICS AND BENEFITS

ENHANCEMENTS OVER THE TMP SCREW:

  • The new geometric design of the flank optimizes the movement of plastic in the early phases of the fastening process.
  • Under conditions of static or dynamic stress, it considerably increases the duration of joint utility.
  • For the same nominal diameter, you get up to 50% greater torque-out and tightening strength.
  • With its larger diameter at the root and reduced thread pitch, you can use shorter and/or narrower screws.
  • The optimized pitch provides greater security against vibrations.

SOMETIMES, SMALLER IS BETTER

The images below show the benefits you can get from a shorter, narrower fastener by comparing our TMP and TMPD screws. Replacement screw A is shorter. Replacement screw B is narrower. In both cases, the reduced pitch that can be achieved with our TMPD screw enables us to maintain the thread flank. This helps to contain material costs because the reduced diameter or length of the hub can be achieved without reducing the performance of the joint.

PREVENTS DEFORMATION OF THE PLASTIC

The advanced flank design provides optimal thread forming without damaging the plastic. In-depth analysis of the thread forming and related impact on the material has enabled us to achieve the optimal flank geometry. As the material deforms, we see lower resistance, which, in turn, prevents the sort of friction that can generate heat.
