IMPROVEMENTS OVER TMP SCREW

  • The new geometric design of the flank optimizes plastic material flow during the initial fastening phase.
  • Under static or dynamic stress conditions, it significantly increases the joint’s service life.
  • At the same nominal diameter, it achieves up to 50% gain in torque and preload force.
  • Thanks to the larger core diameter and shorter thread pitch length, shorter screws and/or smaller diameters can be used.
  • Pitch optimization provides additional security against vibrations.

ADVANTAGES

The images below show the advantages achievable by reducing fastening length and diameter, comparing the TMP screw with the TMPD screw. Replacement screw A ensures length reduction, replacement screw B diameter reduction. In both cases, the TMPD screw’s pitch reduction maintains the thread flank. This facilitates cost containment for materials, as hub diameter or height reductions are achieved without compromising joint performance.

PREVENTION OF MATERIAL DEFORMATION

Advanced flank design developments ensure optimal self-tapping without material damage. Detailed analysis of thread formation and material distribution enabled the ideal flank geometry. During material deformation, lower resistance is observed, which in turn prevents frictional heating.
